Miss Apriel Smith is one of the two candidates from Cebu City who passed the screening of Bb. Pilipinas 2016 together with 38 other candidates at the Monet Ballroom of Novotel Manila Araneta Center. The 20-year-old Apriel Smith wears the official candidate No. 22 in the upcoming coronation night of the country’s most prestigious beauty pageant.
Out of the eighty-eight Bb. Pilipinas aspirants, they were trimmed down to just 40 official candidates and one of them was Apriel Smith. Aside from Apriel Smith who represents Cebu City in the competition, the Bantayan island native Maria Gigante also represents Cebu in the Bb. Pilipinas 2016.
The 5 feet 8.75 inches (1.75 m) tall beauty queen Apriel Smith revealed during a local media interview in Cebu that she was encouraged by many of her close family and friends to join Bb. Pilipinas 2016. She also stated that she dedicate her stint in Bb. Pilipinas to her family especially to her loving father.
The 2nd-year college student taking up Tourism Management at the University of San Carlos (USC) has been staying in Manila for weeks now due to her training under the country’s most prestigious beauty camps, Aces and Queens.
Apriel Smith works as a model while studying and at the same time she is also a member of the volleyball varsity team of the University of San Carlos.
Before Apriel Smith’s decision to join the prestigious Binibining Pilipinas, she alreay won numerous titles as a beauty pageant contestant, including Ms. Milo Little Olympics (2010), Miss Cebu City Olympics (2012), Sinulog Festival Queen (2012), Ms. Mandaue third runner-up (2013) and Ms. Badian Tourism (2015).
