Hollywood young superstar Emma Watson who was known for her role in the “Harry Potter” movies will play the role of Belle in the Disney’s upcoming live action film “Beauty and the Beast.” The British actress shared the good news to her fans worldwide through her official Facebook account.
The 24-year-old Emma Watson noted on her Facebook page that her “six-year-old self” is on the ceiling with her heart bursting. The portrayal of Emma Watson as Belle in the highly anticipated movie was also confirmed by Disney but they did not reveal who will play the role of the “beast.”
Walt Disney was also behind the 1991 animated version of “Beauty and the Beast” which became an instant Disney classic, grossing more than $425 million worldwide.
According to some showbiz insiders, Bill Condon, the director of the last two “Twilight” movies, will direct the film. The musical “Beauty and the Beast” will also start their production later this year.
