Around 135 couples got married in a civil mass wedding ceremony at the Mehan Garden in Ermita Manila. The ceremony was presided by Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, who said the mass wedding was to help encourage couples to formalize their union through a free “Kasalan ng Bayan” sponsored by the government.

According to Manila Public Information Office, Manila City Vice Mayor Maria Sheilah “Honey” Lacuna-Pangan delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the sacredness of marriage and its importance in couples. Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso also led the unification of 135 people from various districts in Manila.

After the mass wedding, the newlyweds were treated to a grand buffet reception complete with live music performances. Couples were also allowed to bring up to two guests to join them on their wedding day.

The wedding was the first grand mass wedding under the administration of Mayor Isko. The mayor had earlier presided over his first mass wedding at Bulwagang Katipunan but it was only attended by 20 couples.
