Kapuso actress Katrina Halili and RnB singer Kris Lawrence shared how the reconciliation between them happened.
Katrina and Kris were blessed with a daughter named Katie. After their separation, the only connection that they had with each other was their child. However, in recent months, showbiz fans had noticed that the former couple became close to each other once again.
They were seen in each other’s social media posts, and they became more visible spending time together with Katie.
With this, speculations and anticipations surfaced that they are getting back together, especially since they spent their vacation together. However, they clarified in a recent interview on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda that they are not getting back.
It was just that their friendship was renewed. In the same interview, they said that communication helped them a lot in their reconciliation. They started seeing and talking to each other again, and their relationship became better. Katrina Halili said that a big factor in their reconciliation was her realization.
“Nabanggit ko rin before na last year kasi ang dami kong realization na minsan magso-sorry ako kay Katie na ang dami kong pagkukulang sa kaniya kasi lagi kong inuuna ‘yung trabaho. Tapos natatakot ako na paano kapag nawala ako, ang dami kong mga gano’n. Last year, sobrang sensitive ko,” the actress shared.
She shared that she did not know where her fears came from, and all she wanted was to have another person who would take care of Katie.
Katrina admitted that she has a lot of shortcomings to Katie. With this, she decided to forgive Kris and work hand-in-hand with him for their daughter.
Kris shared that Katrina really made her suffer last year. In fact, whenever she visited Katie, the actress wouldn’t talk to her or pay attention to her. That’s why the singer is so grateful for the opportunity she was given.
“We were not in good terms last year. So this year, it was her birthday, it changed everything. She invited me, we went out in good terms, and then she invited me to her birthday. So of course, when she invited me, I was like ‘Should I go? I’m not gonna go, she’s like so mean to me.’ So I just realized, ‘You know what? It’s your birthday, I’m gonna show up,’” the singer shared.
Kris added that he knew that Katrina swallowed her pride to invite her to her birthday, and he decided to go. “And I’m very thankful that I went because I feel like my presence at her birthday is when everything changed,” the singer shared.
