Toni Gonzaga talked about how her parents raised her
Ultimate Multimedia Star Toni Gonzaga revealed that she and her sister, actress-vlogger Alex Gonzaga, were raised differently by their parents.
Toni started in the entertainment industry when she was just a teenager, and later on, her younger sister joined her. From that, they were known as the Gonzaga sisters in showbiz.
Even though they are sisters, it has been known to showbiz fans that they have different personalities and niches.
In a recent interview on the “Unshaken with Gary V” podcast, based on the article in Bandera, Toni Gonzaga also revealed that regarding how she and Alex Gonzaga were raised, there was also a difference.
Her revelation came after her conservative and somewhat serious personality was brought up.
Toni shared that as the eldest child, her father, Daddy Bonoy, was stricter with her, especially when she was entering her teenage years.
She noted that this is one of the reasons why she and Alex have such vastly different temperaments and personalities.
Mr. Pure Energy Gary Valenciano, the podcast host, asked her what her childhood was like and how she was growing up.
“Very disciplinarian ‘yong daddy ko sa akin. I think, nag-relax siya kay Alex kasi nakita niya kung paano ako naging so careful with my life. Parang he ingrained in me ‘yong word of God bata pa lang,” Toni Gonzaga shared.
She also said that she remembered that her father would tell her about a certain verse because he saw that she was goal-oriented and she really had a dream she wanted to fulfill. Her father would always tell her, “Obey your parents and the Lord. So that everything will go right with you.”
However, defending Daddy Bonoy’s strictness, Toni said it wasn’t done in a hurtful way but in a loving way. She felt that he was simply worried when she expressed interest in showbiz.
“Sinabi niya, na it’s a different world. It’s a different jungle that you’re going to enter. So I have to equip this girl para ‘di siya maligaw,” the Ultimate Multimedia Star said.
When Toni Gonzaga‘s parents realized she was becoming somewhat anti-social, they reportedly became a bit more lenient with Alex, who was more outgoing and quirky.
