Anjo Yllana Says He Has Saved ₱20K Toward the ₱3.5 Million TVJ Damages
ANJO YLLANA – Actor and TV host Anjo Yllana shared that his savings have now reached ₱20,000, his first step toward settling the ₱3.5 million court-ordered damages.
Anjo Yllana has shared a new update regarding the legal case filed against him by TVJ Productions Inc., revealing that he has already started saving money to pay the court-ordered damages amounting to ₱3.5 million.
The case stemmed from Anjo’s alleged defamatory statements on social media, which were said to have harmed the reputation of the long-running noontime program “Eat Bulaga.” Based on court documents released by TVJ Productions and reports from various media outlets, the court issued a permanent injunction against Anjo, whose full name is Andres Jose Garchitorena Yllana Jr.
In its ruling, the court recognized that TVJ Productions, as the producer of “Eat Bulaga,” has the legal right to protect the program’s name, goodwill, and reputation from statements that could damage its image.
During a recent interview with members of the entertainment press, Anjo was asked about his preparations to comply with the court’s decision. He admitted that he has begun setting aside money for the damages.
“Naka-twenty thousand na ako na ipon,” said Anjo. “Nasa ano na siya seriously, nasa appeal na kasi. Court of Appeals, sa Supreme Court appeal. Sa tingin ko, ha.”
Despite the serious nature of the case, the actor managed to inject a bit of humor into his response.
“Pero sabi ko nga, proud naman ako dahil ang value ko pala ay ₱3.5M. Joke lang ‘yon, ha,” he added.
Anjo also acknowledged the mistakes that led to the legal dispute and expressed that the experience has taught him an important lesson.
“I learned from my mistakes. The important thing is that I realized what I did was wrong,” he said.
His recent statement comes after earlier reports revealed that he was uncertain about how he would raise the ₱3.5 million required to satisfy the damages awarded by the court.
In an episode of “Showbiz Updates” aired on July 5, showbiz insider Ogie Diaz shared what Anjo had reportedly told him regarding his situation.
“Sinabi nito, honestly, hindi niya alam ang kaniyang next move. Pero ‘yong mabayaran ‘yong ₱3.5 milyong bilang damages, hindi rin niya alam kung saan hahagilapin,” according to the showbiz insider.
Meanwhile, Anjo also disclosed that he has not yet personally spoken with his former co-hosts Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, and Joey de Leon following the court’s decision. However, he remains hopeful that they will eventually see each other during the legal proceedings, where he intends to greet them and personally ask for their forgiveness.
