Jericho Rosales received a new milestone in his acting career
Kapamilya A-list actor Jericho Rosales dedicated his Best Actor win at the 9th EDDYS Awards to his mother who has Alzheimer’s.
Jericho is one of the most prominent actors of his generation. Just recently, he received another recognition as an actor. During the recent awards night, Jericho was also a presenter.
Based on the article in Pilipino Star Ngayon, the A-list actor was the one who presented the Best Picture award, and he was somewhat hesitant to present this, fearing that his reaction might betray his true feelings if the film Quezon didn’t win.
Jericho Rosales is the lead star in the said movie. He gave life to the character of former President Manuel Quezon on the big screen.
He admitted that the main reason he attended the awards night was his sincere hope that Quezon would take home the Best Picture trophy.
Aside from the Best Actor and Best Picture wins, the film’s director, Jerrold Tarog, also won Best Director.
With this, Jericho Rosales was jumping for joy when Quezon was announced as the Best Picture winner. Direk Jerrold was overjoyed that their movie won. That was really all he wanted to see. “And sa lahat ng mga naging part ng buong Bayaniverse trilogy, maraming salamat sa inyong lahat,” the director said.
“I’m happy na nasarado yung tatlong pelikulang iyun, at makakapagpahinga ako from historical films,” he said, adding that he is hoping that more movies like this would come in the future.
Direk Jerrold was talking about the bayaniverse, which includes Heneral Luna (2015), Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral (2018), and Quezon (2025).
Jericho shared the sacrifices he made for the movie Quezon. He also dedicated the award he received to his mother, who has Alzheimer’s disease, and spoke about the challenges his family is currently facing.
“I just want to let my family know that I love them so much and they mean so much to me. And they’re the reason for you know, why I worked hard, talked about it and yeah!” the actor said.
Then, he especially mentioned his mother. “I wanna really honor my mother na ngayon, na you know, she’s…it’s a daily thing when it comes to Alzheimer’s di ba? And if she gets to see this and kikiligin siya pag pinanood niya yung video na pinasasalamatan ko siya, and then she can play it everyday, and for me, it’s great you know,” Jericho Rosales said.
