On Thursday (July 2, 2026), family members, relatives, and friends gathered to bid farewell to another student who lost her life in Tacloban school shooting.
The remains of Joyancee Separa arrived at Holy Cross Memorial Cemetery before noon, where loved ones came together to honor her memory and accompany her on her final journey. The emotional ceremony showed the deep sorrow felt by those who knew and cared for the young student.

The family was given a few quiet moments to look at Joyancee’s coffin one last time before the burial. It was a heartbreaking scene as relatives struggled to hold back their tears while saying their final goodbyes.
White doves were released into the sky, symbolizing peace and remembrance for the life that was taken too soon.
One of the most emotional moments during the burial was the grief shown by Joyancee’s younger sibling, who was seen crying as the family gathered around the grave. The pain of losing a loved one was evident throughout the ceremony, leaving many in attendance deeply moved.
Joyancee’s father, Jaime Separa, shared his sadness over the tragedy. He expressed regret that he was unable to help his daughter during the shooting incident inside the school.
The burial came a day after another victim of the same shooting, Nicole Dazo, was laid to rest at Superior Memorial Cemetery. Her funeral was also attended by many relatives, friends, and members of the community who wanted to pay their respects.
