Sen. Imee Marcos Slams PBBM Gov’t amid Call for Justice, Accountability on Corruption Issues
IMEE MARCOS – The Senator slammed the government led by her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, at the surprise rally held by the members of Iglesia ni Cristo (INC).
Currently, thousands of members of Iglesia ni Cristo are gathered in White Plains Avenue for a surprise rally. The said protest was reportedly in defense of Sen. Rodante Marcoleta over his possible arrest.
Marcoleta is faced with looming plunder charges. Thousands of INC members are rallying behind him in the accusations of corruption. The Senator denied the allegation and even claimed that he is allegedly being targeted by the government in line with the possible impeachment trial of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
Amid the calls of the thousands of members of INC who gathered along EDSA beginning June 30, several Filipinos did not like the inconvenience caused by the rally. Many people were stuck in heavy traffic. Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered “maximum tolerance” on the surprise rally of the INC. and he wants everything to be back to normal soon.
At the rally, one of those who unsurprisingly joined the protest is the President’s very own sister, Sen. Imee Marcos. She aligned herself with the opposition and the Dutertes amid the many corruption issues in the government now.
The attendance of Sen. Imee Marcos at the INC rally is no longer a surprise for many Filipinos. She was also present during the November 2025 rally of the same religious group wherein she claimed that PBBM is allegedly into illegal drug use.
At the ongoing INC surprise rally, based on video posted by Rappler, Sen. Imee Marcos slammed the government led by her very own brother. According to her, Marcos Jr.-led government is allegedly keeping its eyes close on the evidence and the testimonies over the flood control scam in the country.
“Wala silang pakialam basta’s itong gobyerno ay bangag, walang malay, nagkukunwaring hindi nakikita ang sambunton na ibedensya, ang dose-dosenang testigo, ang labing-walo higit pang mga marines, itong baha at flood control na lulunod sa ating lahat. Wala silang pakialam,” the Senator said.
Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that her call since then is for the people to interfere for the welfare of the youth, the future, and to return the “truth” in the society. According to her, it is time to return justice that does not supposedly bends the law and is fair between the rich and the poor.
“Makialam na po tayo… Makialam para maibalik ang katotohanan sa ating lipin. Panahon na na maibalik ang katarungan, ang hustisya… Katarungan na pantay-pantay sa mahirap at mayaman, katarungan na walang sinu-sino, na walang pinipili na kaalyado o kalaban, katarungan na naiiba ngayon para sa senador at mga pinsang-buo,” Marcos said based on the video.
Previously, PBBM reacted to the “no election” claim of Sen. Imee Marcos calling it “fake news” and her “part of the problem”.
