11-Year-Old Boy Lost His Life Helping Companion Electrocuted at Foam Party
An 11-year-old boy lost his life while trying to help a companion who was electrocuted during a foam party held in Banate, Iloilo.
On Thursday morning (June 26, 2026), the young victim reportedly lost his life after being electrocuted while trying to help a 25-year-old companion who had also come into contact with a live electrical wire.
According to the initial investigation by the Banate Police, the two individuals allegedly entered a restricted area near the event stage. The area was reportedly blocked off and not intended for public access, but authorities believe the pair may have slipped in without being noticed by security personnel assigned at the venue.

Investigators said the 25-year-old man was the first to step on an exposed electrical wire. Seeing what had happened, the young boy immediately attempted to help him. He also came into contact with the source of electricity and was severely electrocuted.
Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, the child later passed away. The older victim survived and received medical attention for his injuries.
Police believe the combination of exposed wiring and the wet conditions created by the foam party may have contributed to the incident. Authorities explained that water can greatly increase the risk of electrocution, especially when electrical cables are exposed.
The investigation remains ongoing as officials work to determine whether any safety lapses occurred and who may be held responsible for the accident. Local authorities are also reviewing the circumstances surrounding the event and the safety measures that were in place at the time.
Banate Mayor Junjun Gonzales said he had already spoken with the families involved. Reports indicated that the families were open to reaching an agreement with the operator of the sound system used during the event.
