How’s Michelle Dee now after the controversy?
Kapuso actress Michelle Dee is now focusing more on her projects than the controversy involving her, actress Rhian Ramos, and beauty queen Samantha Panlilio.
To recall, early this year, Rhian’s former driver filed a case against her, Michelle, and Samantha, for alleged physical assault. The driver allegedly took an “ang pao,” which was speculated to contain sensitive materials.
Michelle also filed a case against Rhian’s former driver. She also filed a cyber libel complaint against social media personality Xian Gaza for his posts mentioning Michelle, Rhian, and Samantha.
Despite the controversy that Michelle Dee, Rhian Ramos, and Samantha Panlilio faced in January, the three still remain friends. In fact, it has not affected their relationship, based on the article in GMA Entertainment.
“We’re still very, very close and we’d like to keep it that way,” Michelle said during a recent interview in the Kapuso afternoon talk show Fast Talk with Boy Abunda. Michelle is fine now, despite the controversy that happened in January, and she is now more focused on her projects.
On the other hand, she admitted, “You know, nobody wants to be put in that spot, to be under national spotlight, scrutiny, accusations, especially without fact-checking.”
She also said that they are lucky that now, people are smarter, and that they can connect the dots of what really happened, and they would think first before judging anyone. Now, more people have the capacity to do fact-checking.
“We’ve always said this; the truth will always come out. And it has been coming out sa general opinion naman talaga,” Michelle said.
On the other hand, Michelle Dee said that fake news is not totally gone, and she said that this is a big problem right now. With this, the actress said, “I think people should stay accountable.”
She pointed out that just because one has a source, it does not mean that she or he is already speaking the truth, and a lot of people fall victim to this. “I just hope that the truth comes out in that regard, and I definitely don’t agree na dapat binibigyan pa ng panahon ang mga nagfe-fake news,” she stressed.
