Alexa Ilacad talked about her new series
Kapamilya actress Alexa Ilacad shared that she needed to channel her bravery for her role in the iWant series Miss Behave.
In the series, she portrayed the character of school queen bee, Marla Briones, who is a smart and headstrong alpha female in her group.
Their group plots revenge against male students after their scandalous private content spreads across campus mysteriously.
In a recent interview, based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, Alexa Ilacad said that what she is in real life and her character in the series are the same when it comes to being “palaban.”
She said that right now, her mantra is “matapang ako” and this was what she had to channel in playing her role in Miss Behave.
“Kailangan ko siyang tapangan. Kung gagawin ko ito, it’s all in or nothing at all,” the Kapamilya actress said.
Aside from the reality that some girls’ private photos are being linked online without their permission, Alexa also drew inspiration from their production team while shooting for this project.
Every one of them had their goal and purpose, why they were doing this, and why they had to do their best. “It’s not just for the art, but it’s also for all the victims,” she said.
She also wanted this project to be a reminder to those who are yet ready to fight back, as they are trying to fight for those who don’t have the courage yet to speak.
In this project, Alexa Ilacad admitted that the heavy emotions were challenging for her and the rest of the cast. She had to tap into traumas she thought she had locked away before.
“I had to open up so many parts of myself and my heart na could be very, very draining talaga since we do it so often,” she said. The actress was thankful that their director was there to help them as they dove into these kinds of emotions.
