Actress Sharmaine Arnaiz reacted to the viral orange that wanted to be called “Sharmaine.”
Chronically online people would see the virality of a certain orange that is now being called “Sharmaine.” Celebrities and brands have been riding along this trend on social media.
As an explainer to those who have no idea about this viral orange, this was started by the skit posted by content creator BAET. In the story, an orange is questioning the origin of its name, saying that it was not well-thought-of since it was just copied from the color orange.
With this, the viral orange wanted to change its name to “Sharmaine” and even wanted to have it notarized. In the skit, aside from “Sharmaine,” the avocado also wanted to change its name to “Melanie,” while the fly wanted to be “Vanessa.”
During a recent episode of the Kapuso morning show Unang Hirit, Sharmaine Arnaiz was featured as a guest, and he was asked about the viral orange.
“Ang daming nag-message sa akin, may mga nag-forward. Noong una, naguluhan ako. Ano bang nangyayari? Bakit naging Sharmaine ‘yung orange? Natakot ako. Sabi ko ‘Ano kaya nangyayari?’ ‘Yun pala gusto lang nila ipangalan ang Sharmaine sa orange,” the actress shared.
When broadcaster Arnold Clavio asked Sharmaine if she would allow the viral orange to be named “Sharmaine,” the actress said that she does not have the rights.
The actress laughed when she was asked about her message to orange “Sharmaine.” “I am speechless. I don’t really know what to say. Sige, papayag ako na gagawing Sharmaine ‘yung orange. Pero dapat Orange Arnaiz na rin ‘yung pangalan ko. From now on, I will be called Orange Arnaiz,” she jokingly said.
On the other hand, Sharmaine Arnaiz had a revelation. She said that she is actually allergic to oranges and any citrus fruits.
