DPWH Sec. Vince Dizon Meets Naga Mayor Leni Roredo Anew
VINCE DIZON – The Public Works Secretary denied his rumored tandem with Naga Mayor Leni Robredo in the 2028 Elections.
The Philippine government has launched the Oplan Kontra Baha and the national government is working together with the local government units for the program. Previously, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. himself visited Naga City for the said anti-flood program.
The meeting of Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Naga Mayor Leni Robredo for Oplan Kontra Baha was undeniably given other meanings. It came after Vice Pres. Sara Duterte announced that she will run for president in 2028, thus, Marcos Jr. was accused of allegedly courting Robredo for the unity of their forces in the next election.
Both the President and the Naga City Mayor denied the speculations. Pres. Bongbong Marcos even revealed the most political thing that he did during his meeting with Naga Mayor Leni Robredo — to wear his pink socks.
Then, Pres. Bongbong Marcos and Naga Mayor Leni Robredo was with DPWH Sec. Vince Dizon as they inspected the river in the city for the flood control project. Amid the speculations, both the President and the Naga Mayor stressed that there’s no politics in their meeting.
Recently, DPWH Sec. Vince Dizon is back in Naga City for the Oplan Kontra Baha and he inspected some areas including the Bicol River Esplanade with Naga Mayor Leni Robredo. Based on News5, during his visit in Naga, the Public Works Chief was asked about his rumored tandem with Robredo.
“Naku, Diyos ko. Wait. Pwede ba nagtatrabaho lang kami dito. Huwag niyo nang papansinin ‘yung mga ganyan. In fact what we’re doing nga, Mayor and everyone noh, is kailangang talagang makatrabaho natin ‘yung mga mayors kasi ‘yung mayors ang may alam kung ano ‘yung mga problema,” Dizon explained.
Furthermore, based on the post, DPWH Sec. Vince Dizon stressed that the national government is far from the real problems in the communities. During his meeting with Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo, he stressed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos really ordered them to go around and talk with all the mayors.
“Alam niyo naman si PBBM, governor siya dati so alam niya ‘yung problema ng lokal. In fact, tomorrow, kay Mayor Joy Belmonte naman tayo,” the DPWH Chief said.
Naga Mayor Leni Robredo was also asked about her reaction to her possible tandem with DPWH Sec. Vince Dizon in the 2028 Elections.
