Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Arrives in Manila with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos
MARCOS JR. – The President is now back in the Philippines after a 2-day working visit in New York which he described as “very productive”.
The looming bigtime oil price hikes in the Philippines amid the escalating tension in the Middle East got countless Filipinos worried on how to make ends meet. Amid the situation, the Philippine President flew to New York.

The 2-day working visit of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in New York includes a discussion with an official of the United Nation to talk about the escalating tension in the Middle East. The President described his visit to New York as “very productive.”
Recently, Marcos Jr. arrived in the Philippines. He landed in Manila at 11:29 p.m. on March 11, 2026. Based on a report on GMA News, the President arrived with his wife, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and the members of the Philippine delegation. He emphasized the importance of having dialogue and cooperation with other countries in addressing global challenges.

Speaking before the United Nations, the Philippine President rallied his fellow leaders to uphold the “rule of law, multilateralism, and peaceful settlement of disputes”. He emphasized that division only weakens collective efforts to resolve crises.
“I am happy to report that the outcomes of this visit to call for peace amidst tensions in the Middle East and other parts of the world, and of course, to campaign for our UN Security Council candidature,” the President said in his arrival speech.

During his 2-day working visit in New York, Marcos Jr. highlighted the Philippines’ shared values and principles with UN. He also called attention to pressing humanitarian concerns which includes the ongoing escalating tension in the Middle East.
Furthermore, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. also appealed for the peace and protection of civilians. He reaffirmed the country’s commitment to supporting international stability while campaigning for the its candidature for a non-permanent seat in the UN Security Council.
“I also had a very good meeting with the United Nations Secretary-General Antońio Guterres, who I first met in 2022 on regional and global issues,” Marcos Jr. stressed.

Upon his arrival in Manila, Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is positive that the outcomes of his 2-day working visit in New York would boost the country’s international standing and contribute to global peace efforts. According to him, the Philippines’ voice at the UN is not only about its national interest but also about advancing global cooperation.
“Sa pagtatapos ng ating pagbisita sa New York, ipapagpatuloy natin ang paglilingkod sa bayan nang mas mulat sa mga bagong kaalaman,” the President expressed.
Based on the report, Marcos Jr. also beamed with confidence over his meetings with business leaders and investors during his 2-day working visit in New York. He met with US Medical Glove company for their plan to build a manufacturing facility in the Philippines and he also talked with senior leaders of JPMorgan over the ongoing cooperation and global concerns related to financial markets.
Amid the escalating tension in the Middle East, Marcos Jr. recently revealed that the government is already talking with other countries as PH looks for an oil supply.
