How true is it that Kean Cipriano is the subject of this blind item?
Speculations surfaced that singer-actor Kean Cipriano is the one whom social media personality Xian Gaza is referring to in his blind item about a music label allegedly exploiting artists.
Kean Cipriano and his wife, actress Chynna Ortaleza, established O/C Records, an independent Philippine record label, on August 14, 2018. It is a subsidiary of Viva Records. O/C stands for Ortaleza and Cipriano.
The music label company handled artists like IV of Spades, Adie, Arthur Nery, Kenaniah, and mrld. In November 2024, actress-vlogger Alex Gonzaga released a single under Kean’s music label.
Kean Cipriano’s name was recently connected to the blind item that Xian Gaza shared on his Facebook page. The blind item focused on a music label owned by a celebrity, and the company is affiliated with a major music label company in the Philippines.
Xian accused the owner of the company of being greedy and allegedly exploiting the artists. The self-proclaimed Pambansang Marites alleged that this celebrity gets a big portion of the profit from the artists’ music releases.
“Sobrang gahaman sa pera at sobrang ine-exploit ang mga pasibol na Filipino music artists. For every 100K pesos na kinikita nila sa Youtube o Spotify, less than 10,000 pesos na lamang ang napupunta sa mga artists sa dami ng mga pautot na deductions,” Xian claimed.
The social media personality also cited that from the P10,000 that an artist could get, 30 percent will be taken away by the company for being the talent manager.
“Around 95% nung income sa Youtube at Spotify ay napupunta sa bulsa ng ating subject tapos yung kakarampot na halaga ay lumalampas pa ng isang taon bago ma-release sa mga kawawang artists,” Xian alleged.
With this, the social media personality called the owner of the music label company “very greedy,” “abusado,” and “masamang tao.” Then, he shared a clue for his blind item. “Ang nasabing artista na music label owner ay katunog ng pangalan nung pinakatsismosong tao sa ating bansa,” Xian wrote.
This was shared on Reddit, and netizens speculated that it was Kean Cipriano. Here are some comments pointing to the former vocalist of the OPM band Callalily.
A few hours after Xian Gaza shared the blind item, he shared a post greeting everyone a good day, except the Ciprianos. As of this writing, Kean has not yet released a statement regarding the speculation against him.
