Sam Milby Was Not Ready, Catriona Gray Shares Emotional Truth
CATRIONA GRAY – Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray finally shared the heartbreaking reason behind her split with Sam Milby, revealing it was all about timing and readiness.
Catriona Gray has been open about the real reason behind her breakup with her ex-fiancé, Sam Milby. In her interview with Karen Davila, which can be watched on the latter’s YouTube channel, Catriona admitted that it was painful for her to realize that the actor was not yet ready for the next chapter of their life together.
“There was a point in our relationship where I think he just realized that he wasn’t ready to take it to the stage of commitment that we thought we were on [because he] proposed, and then a few months later realized that hindi pala siya ready,” said Catriona.
Catriona Gray revealed that they tried to fix things at that time, but it still ended in a breakup.
Catriona continued, “So that was really hurtful for me, and I was really blindsided at that time. I really tried to make it work, and I was willing to adjust ‘cause when you love someone, you’re willing to understand them.
“Pero it got to a point na at that age and what we’ve been through, kung hindi ka pa rin sure, I think that’s an answer already.”
Letting go, she shared, was one of the hardest things she has done in her life.
“It was one of the hardest things to do, but I realised that I needed to choose myself in that moment—‘cause I had already given so much and trying to adjust, ako maggi-give dito. It’s okay, I’ll be understanding,” the beauty queen-actress added.
Catriona also opened up about her personal desires as a woman, including wanting to have a family and become a mother.
“And I don’t look down on myself at that moment ‘cause I did it because I love the person, ‘no. Pero at the end of the day, like if it’s not a relationship that is giving two-way.
“Also as a woman, I wanna have a family, like I wanna get married. I love to be a mom one day, and so I really want a partner who values me and sees that future with me, too,” Catriona shared.
Her candid reflection offers a glimpse into the challenges of love, the importance of self-respect, and the hope for a future built on mutual understanding and commitment.
