Now, he owns restaurants and found success in this field. It is known to many fans that he had a humble beginning. Before entering the entertainment industry, he also had other jobs.

Based on the article in ABS-CBN Entertainment, Marvin Agustin has been very vocal about his aspiration to establish his own restaurant using the money he earned from his showbiz stints.

His dream came true when he co-founded the Japanese-American casual dining chain Sumo Sam in the country back in 2005.

For Marvin’s 47th birthday last January 29, he commemorated this special day with a social media post. “Before the restaurants and the kitchens, I was a waiter at Tia Maria’s. A mascot at Shakey’s. I worked wherever I could, learned on the job, and stayed close to food and people,” he wrote.

Then, he mentioned that showbiz happened. This brought a big change in her life. Marvin shared that after earning a huge amount, he did not buy anything. “I bought a shot. Mr. Donut was my first move,” he shared.

There were challenges along the way, and he experienced failures, but eventually, he found his niche. “Until one day, we cooked cochinillo in the garage. That garage turned into a kitchen. That kitchen turned into a restaurant. The rest followed,” the actor shared.

Marvin also expressed how thankful he is for reaching 47, and he is still learning and “hungry.” He is also grateful to those who joined in his journey.
