Sandiganbayan Rules on Charges vs. Former Sen. Bong Revilla Following Surrender
BONG REVILLA – The Sandiganbayan Third Division ordered the detention of the former Senator at the New Quezon City Jail in Payatas.
Former Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla voluntarily surrendered and he was served his arrest warrant that was issued by the Sandiganbayan Third Division last night. Following his arrest, the former Senator was brought to Camp Crame.

Revilla is faced with plunder charges. The Ombudsman also filed graft and malversation charges against him. He is accused of alleged involvement in a supposed ghost flood control project. The Sandiganbayan release arrest warrants against Revilla and the following officials of the Department of Public Works and Highways:
- former DPWH Bulacan First District Engineering Office (DEO) assistant district engineer Brice Hernandez
- former DPWH Bulacan First DEO Engr. Jaypee Mendoza
- former DPWH Bulacan First DEO Engr. Arjay Domasig
- former DPWH Bulacan First DEO Engr. Emelita Juat
- former DPWH Bulacan First DEO finance section chief Juanito Mendoza, at
- DPWH Bulacan First District Engineering Office cashier Christina Pineda

Amid his surrender, Revilla maintained his supposed innocence from the flood control accusations hurled against him. According to him, he knows that God will not forsake him as he is innocent from the accusations against him so he will face it without fear.
The former Senator admitted that the turn of events is painful towards him and his family. He asked for prayers as well as strength for his family over what is happening. According to him, he does not really understand how he feels right now.

This morning, former Sen. Bong Revilla arrived at the Sandiganbayan Third Division together with his wife, Cavite Congresswoman Lani Mercado, and Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla. According to Remulla, it was really Revilla who called him to inform him about his voluntary surrender to the authorities.
According to Inquirer, the Sandiganbayan Third Division has ruled to detain former Sen. Bong Revilla at the New Quezon City Jail in Payatas. The lawyer of the former Senator has appealed for his client’s transfer to the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Facility.


Based on the post, the arraignment and the pretrial of the charges filed against former Sen. Revilla are set on January 23 at 8:30 a.m. when the court will hear the motion for the request to transfer the custody of the former Senator.
Amid the issue, the DILG assured that there will be no special treatment for former Sen. Bong Revilla.
