Why Rosanna Roces Says Her Time in Batang Quiapo Was Truly Special
ROSANNA ROCES – Veteran actress Rosanna Roces looked back on her time in Batang Quiapo with gratitude as she shared why the experience left a lasting mark on her career.
Rosanna Roces recently opened up about her experience on the hit Kapamilya action-drama series “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” following the official exit of her character, Divina. Known for her memorable presence on screen, Rosanna expressed nothing but gratitude and fulfillment for being part of the long-running show.
In a Facebook post shared by CCM Film Productions, the actress appeared in a full exit interview where she reflected on her journey in the series. Rosanna described her overall experience as deeply satisfying and enriching, especially because of the unique locations where they filmed.
Rosanna Roces said, “Sa experience ko rito [sa ‘Batang Quiapo], sobrang napakasarap. Sobrang ang dami kong narating na magagandang lugar. Mga lugar na hindi ko akalaing mapapag-taping-an.”
One location stood out as her personal favorite. “Pinakapaborito ko ‘yong sa ibabaw ng tulay, sa Binondo bridge. Kasi nakakamangha na puwede palang ipasara ‘yong gano’ng lugar para lang pag-taping-an,” Rosanna added. For her, filming in such iconic and unexpected places added excitement and meaning to her role.
Beyond the thrill of production, Rosanna also shared the important life lessons she learned from portraying Divina. She revealed three key values that her character taught her, beginning with the dangers of greed.
“Una ‘yong greed. Matuto ka dapat makuntento. Hindi ‘yong pati pag-aari ng iba e pag-iinteresan mo na. […] ‘Yong greed talaga, ikakapahamak mo ‘yan,” said Rosanna.
She then spoke about choosing battles wisely. “Pangalawa,” she continued, “hindi lahat ng giyera papasukan mo, Hindi ka ipapanalo ng katapangan. Minsan ipapanalo ka ng katalinuhan. At kasama sa katalinuhang ‘yon ‘yong pagtalikod, lalo na kung giyera ng iba ‘yan.”
Lastly, she emphasized the consequences of living a life rooted in wrongdoing. She added, “’Yong pangatlo naman, siyempre kung nabuhay ka sa masama, sa masama ka rin magtatapos.”
Viewers may recall that Divina met her tragic end inside a vehicle after being attacked by Tanggol, played by Coco Martin, using an excavator, marking a dramatic and unforgettable exit for Rosanna’s character in the series.
