Oil Price Hike to Take Effect on January 20, 2026 (Tuesday)
FUEL PRICE UPDATE – The Department of Energy announced an oil price hike starting January 20, 2026 (Tuesday).
Filipino motorists should brace for higher fuel prices, as several oil companies announced another round of price increases. The looming price adjustments mark the second straight rise for gasoline and the fourth consecutive increase for diesel and kerosene.
Shell Pilipinas and Seaoil will implement the same changes, with gasoline rising by P1.00 per liter, diesel by P2.00 per liter, and kerosene by P1.50 per liter. These hikes will take effect at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

Similarly, Petro Gazz will increase gasoline by P1.00 and diesel by P2.00 per liter at the same time, though it does not carry kerosene. Cleanfuel will follow suit with the same price adjustments for gasoline and diesel, but these will start slightly later in the afternoon at 4:01 p.m.
The latest increases follow last week’s smaller hikes, when gasoline and kerosene prices went up by P0.30 per liter and diesel by P0.20 per liter. Diesel and kerosene will have risen for four weeks in a row, while gasoline sees its second consecutive increase.
DOE points out that global factors are driving the price adjustments. Rising tensions in the Middle East, particularly involving Iran, continue to raise concerns about crude supply. Ongoing conflicts in other parts of the world, including the Russia-Ukraine crisis, also contribute to uncertainties in the oil market, affecting local pump prices.

Not all oil companies have announced their price movements yet, but motorists are advised to prepare for the higher costs. Authorities encourage drivers to plan accordingly, as these increases may affect household budgets and transportation costs.
