Chito Miranda Shares Untold Stories About His Friendship w/ Yael Yuzon

CHITO MIRANDA – A recent concert in Cebu turned into a moment of honesty and humor as Chito Miranda shared unexpected stories about his friendship with Yael Yuzon.

Parokya ni Edgar frontman Chito Miranda recently shared his candid and humorous impression of Spongecola lead vocalist Yael Yuzon following their joint appearance at a concert held in Cebu. The two OPM icons performed together at the SM Seaside Concert Ground in a free, public show that drew enthusiastic crowds of music fans.

In a Facebook post published on Saturday, January 17, Chito expressed his gratitude to the Cebuano audience for their warm reception, especially since he admitted that he was not able to give his full energy onstage due to health concerns. Despite this, the event remained memorable for him, not only because of the crowd but also because of the people he shared the stage with.

Chito Miranda then took the opportunity to talk about his longtime friendship with Yael, describing him in a playful yet affectionate way. “Salamat din kay Yale ng Sponge. Palagi ko silang inaasar pero sa totoo, isa si Yale sa mga pinaka-kaibigan ko sa eksena. He’s weird at annoying (ganun din naman yata ako eh) pero sobrang bait nya,” said Chito.

He went on to recall a thoughtful gesture from Yael that highlighted the latter’s kindness. “Alam nya na may sakit ako, so ang gjnawa nya, nagdala sya ng Berocca at gamot sa room ko pagbalik namin sa hotel. He then proceeded to explain kung bakit effective ang Berocca. Ganun sya ka-bait (at ka-weird).”

Adding more humor to his post, Chito shared stories from their past that showed the depth of their friendship. He recalled a time when he got extremely drunk, and Yael made sure he got home safely. “Iiniwan nalang namin yung kotse ko sa parking kung san kami uminom…tapos binalikan namin the next day,” he said.

Chito Miranda also pointed out that their concern for each other goes both ways. “Nung sya naman yung nalasing, hinatid ko sya pa-uwi. Suka sya ng suka sa kotse…pero ok lang kasi kotse naman nya yung dala namin eh,” he added.

The Cebu concert also featured other notable artists such as Rob Deniel and Earl Agustin, making the night a celebration of OPM camaraderie, friendship, and genuine respect among musicians.
