Why Beauty Gonzalez Nearly Gave Up on Yoga During Her First Class
BEAUTY GONZALEZ – Kapuso actress Beauty Gonzalez surprised fans after candidly sharing how a simple yoga class became one of her most challenging personal experiences.
Beauty Gonzalez recently opened up about her mental health journey, revealing that she, like many people, experiences anxiety from time to time despite having a happy career and family life.
The actress shared that she is only human and also goes through moments of fear and intense pressure, both in her work and personal life. Still, Beauty said she is grateful and fulfilled with her showbiz career as well as her life with her husband, Norman Crisologo, and their daughter, Olivia. There are days, however, when anxiety becomes unavoidable, which is why yoga has become a crucial part of her coping process.

Beauty spoke to BANDERA after the grand mediacon of her upcoming GMA 7 afternoon series “House of Lies,” where she stars alongside Kris Bernal, Martin del Rosario, and Mike Tan. During the interview, she was asked how she deals with negativity in her personal life and difficult people at work.
“What really helped me was when I went to India, when I studied yoga. I was there for one month,” Beauty shared. She recalled how she was taught meditation and breathing exercises, which she now uses whenever she feels angry or overwhelmed.
“So when I get angry, I just meditate. I know it’s funny. It’s hard. Ang hirap mag-meditate,” she admitted. Beauty then jokingly recounted her first meditation experience in India. “Nu’ng first time kong ginawa yun sa India, gusto kong suntukin yung teacher ko,” she said, describing how challenging it was to sit still and focus on breathing for long periods.
Despite the difficulty, she said the practice taught her patience and clarity. “But that’s, that’s the challenge of it. And I’m proud to say na I last for four minutes. It takes time pero iba yung clarity binibigay niya after,” she added.

Beauty also revealed that she is now a certified yoga teacher. “I’m a certified yoga teacher now. I am. Puwede na akong magturo. I can teach anywhere,” she said, explaining that she wants a long-term path beyond acting. She dreams of eventually opening her own yoga studio and sharing the practice with her family.
The actress candidly spoke about her struggles with anxiety and depression, noting how yoga helps her stay grounded. She also shared that the practice has benefited her family, from helping her husband stretch as he gets older to making her daughter calmer in school.
“Nakakatuwa. It really helps a lot, it helps you physically, mentally, and spiritually,” Beauty said.
