Mariel Padilla Reacts To Bashing Due To Her “P500 Noche Buena” Vs Lavish Buffet

Mariel Padilla shared this post about her bashers

Celebrity vlogger Mariel Padilla reacted to the bashing that she received because of her P500 Noche Buena challenge versus the lavish buffet she had during Christmas.

Mariel was one of the celebrities who reacted to the viral statement of Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina Roque that P500 is enough for Noche Buena.

The DTI head was criticized for this because many Filipinos pointed out that, given the high prices of basic commodities, this amount would not be sufficient.

Mariel Padilla accepted the challenge. Without the basic condiments and ingredients, she was able to cook spaghetti and macaroni salad for four people. However, she stressed that P500 was not really enough because she excluded ingredients like salt, pepper, sugar, onion, and garlic.

A netizen criticized Mariel, as well as veteran actress Gloria Diaz, for their lavish noche buena, which was far from the P500 budget suggested by the DTI.

To recall, Gloria supported Sec. Cristina Roque, who is her friend. The actress said that P500 was enough, but netizens saw that she hada lavish celebration with her family.

“Buffet at Foi Gras. Tapos kasya ang 500 for Noche Buena anes? Go touch some grass mga madame!” the netizen wrote in the caption featuring Mariel and Gloria’s photos.

This was answered by a netizen who defended Mariel and stressed that people should watch the whole vlog. The wife of Senator Robin Padilla also answered this issue.

Mariel Padilla replied to this and wrote, “Most especially if alam lang nila na that I helped over 1,500 families this Christmas while they were busy posting sh!t about me.”
