Kapamilya actress-host Kim Chiu allegedly lost P100 million because of her older sister, Lakambini Chiu.
Kim and Lakam’s closeness was challenged when an issue occurred between them that involved money matters. Reportedly, the actress tried to fix the conflict with her sister, but there was no change from the latter’s part. This pushed Kim to take legal action.
She filed a qualified theft complaint against Lakam. The actress-host admitted that this was too painful for her as well. Many fans of the actress rallied behind her and expressed support for her on social media.
Some fans recalled the 2024 vlog that Kim Chiu shared on her YouTube channel. In that vlog, Kim was told by a Feng Shui expert that she would experience betrayal and robbery. For her fans, that was a prediction of what Lakam has done to her.
Based on the social media post of Atty. Jesus Falcis, allegedly, Lakam took hundreds of millions from Kim’s money and sold a condo unit without the latter’s knowledge. Allegedly, the older Chiu was hooked on gambling and used her younger sister’s money.
In an article by entertainment writer Salve Asis in Pilipino Star Ngayon, it was said that Kim lost P100 million, but it was unclear if it reached P200 million.
Asis said that many people can relate to what happened to Kim and her sister Lakam, especially overseas Filipino workers who were also betrayed by their siblings when it comes to money matters.
On the other hand, some people praised Kim because even though it was painful for her, she had to sue her sister, as some OFWs had no courage to defend themselves and sue their siblings who betrayed them.
Because of Kim’s lawsuit against her sister, the public somehow had knowledge of the properties and businesses that she was able to establish over the years.
It was said that the Kapamilya actress has a franchise of Julie’s Bakeshop, Potato Corner, and Chowking. She has a bridal shop, a commercial building in Cagayan de Oro City, real estate ventures, and the latest business venture she had was the bag business called House of Little Bunny.
Reportedly, all of her businesses have a good return of investment or ROI, and her fans believe that Kim Chiu will be able to bounce back from this problem and will get back the millions she lost.
