This accusation surfaced against Sen. Chiz Escudero
Senator Chiz Escudero was accused of removing P50 billion from the 4Pa program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Escudero has been in the hot seat these past months because of the corruption accusations against him. His wife, Queen of Creative Collaborations Heart Evangelista, is also being dragged into the issue, and it is because of her lavish lifestyle.
Amid the corruption accusations, the senator asked the public not to be judgmental. However, even though the Commission on Elections (Comelec) cleared him over the P30 million donation from businessman Lawrence Lubiano, issues against him continue to surface.
Just recently, former congressman Zaldy Co accused Sen. Chiz Escudero of cutting the PHP 10 billion from the DepEd’s computerization and reducing the PHP 1.692-billion budget for new teaching positions. Co also alleged that the lawmaker proposed a budget reduction for the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
Then, Co accused Escudero of removing a PHP 74-billion subsidy for PhilHealth. Atty. Jesus Falcis echoed this accusation against the Senator. In a Facebook post, the lawyer, additionally, accused Escudero of slashing P50 million from the 4Ps budget.
Falcis claimed that this information came from a “High level Senate tweety bird,” and if this source continued to speak, it would be his downfall.
“High level Senate tweety bird confirms it was Chiz Escudero who ordered ₱74 Billion Pesos of PhilHealth to be zeroed AND he was the brains behind removing ₱50 Billion from 4Ps of DSWD in 2025. Pag nag salita po etong si tweety bird, lusaw ang keso!” Atty. Falcis wrote.
As of this writing, the former Senate President has not yet spoken about this recent accusation against him.
