Palace on Calls for Marcos Jr. To Resign: “Napakaliit ng grupo nitong gustong pababain ang Pangulo”

Press Office of Palace Speaks on Marcos Jr. amid Zaldy Co’s Accusations

Palace Presidential Communications Office acting secretary Dave Gomez spoke on the calls for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to resign amid the massive corruption allegations.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez is accused by Zaldy Co of allegedly receiving multi-billion kickback. The allegation came after the resigned Ako Bicol Partylist Representative claimed that the President and the former House Speaker supposedly inserted P100 billion in the 2025 budget.

According to Zaldy Co, it was allegedly an instruction from the President for him to stay out of the Philippines when the flood control issue broke out. He claimed that he was allegedly promised to be taken cared of but believes he was supposedly made as the “poster boy” of the government’s fight against corruption.

Zaldy Co also claimed that the testimony of his former aide, Orly Guteza, during a Senate flood control hearing is allegedly true. Guteza claimed that he was supposedly part of the team that delivered suitcases filled with millions of cash to the residences of Co and Romualdez.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Gomez said Marcos Jr. is not dignifying the corruption accusations against him. The Palace official also expressed that they are not even paying attention to it.

“Sabi ni BBM, he wil not even dignify the acdusations dahil napakaraming loopholes nung script. Katawa-tawa…Hindi namin ito pinapansin,” Gomez told DZMM during an interview.

Based on the report, on the calls for Marcos Jr. to resign, the Palace official also claimed that a very small group of people allegedly wants the Chief Executive to step down from the presidency. According to Gomez, they are the ones who might allegedly be punished because of their supposed involvement in the issue.

“Napakaliit ng grupo nitong gustong pababain ang Pangulo. Hindi ba obvious ‘yung mga gustong magpapaba ay ‘yung mga tatamaan?” the Palace official said.

Amid the corruption accusations against Marcos Jr. and Romualdez, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte issued a statement.
