Department of Public Services Collects Nearly Seven Truckloads of Trash on First Day of INC Rally
Almost seven truckloads or 19 metric tons of trash were collected during the first day of Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) rally in Manila.
The first day of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) Peaceful Rally for Transparency and Better Democracy brought together a huge crowd in Manila, and with it came a large amount of waste that city workers had to manage.
The Facebook page Department of Public Services–Manila reported that around seven truckloads of garbage were collected during the event, weighing a total of 19 metric tons. This estimate came from the city’s regular monitoring to ensure proper waste management during major gatherings.

From Sunday night (November 16, 2025) to early Monday morning (November 17, 2025), an estimated 110,000 people stayed overnight in Luneta to join the rally. With the massive turnout, city personnel worked tirelessly to keep the area clean and safe.
As the crowd continued to grow, cleanup teams moved quickly to sweep, gather, and load piles of trash into waiting trucks. The teams aim to maintain order and prevent the waste from piling up and causing hazards to the public.
The Manila City Government continued its intensified cleaning and clearing operations throughout the day. Workers were seen going around the area, making sure that pathways remained accessible and that visitors and residents could move safely.

The local government emphasized its commitment to keeping the surroundings clean, especially during large events that draw thousands of people.
These efforts were not only about maintaining cleanliness but also about ensuring safety. Accumulated waste can lead to health risks, blocked walkways, and other concerns that could affect both rally participants and the general public.

The city’s cleanup teams continued their work into the following hours, showing their dedication to keeping Manila orderly during moments of high activity.
