Authorities Arrest Woman in Bulacan for Attempting to Sell Her Own Baby
A mother by the authorities in Marilao, Bulacan was arrested for allegedly trying to sell her baby online for P25,000.
The authorities arrested a woman who allegedly tried to sell her own baby online for P25,000 in what was believed to be an illegal adoption scheme.
The suspect, a young mother, was caught during an entrapment operation set up by the police after a concerned citizen reported her suspicious post on social media. According to the report, the woman was offering her four-month-old child to potential buyers in exchange for cash.

The post quickly gained attention and reached authorities, who immediately acted to stop the illegal sale.
During the operation, undercover officers posed as interested buyers and met with the woman to confirm the transaction. She was arrested on the spot once the payment was made, preventing the baby from being handed over.
The infant was rescued and is now under the care and protection of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). The agency assured that the baby is safe and receiving proper care while the investigation continues.

Police are now looking into the possibility that the woman might be part of a larger group involved in illegal adoptions or child trafficking. They are also checking her background and motives, as some sources mentioned financial struggles might have pushed her to make the decision.
āThe PNP-WCPC will continue to intensify its rescue and enforcement operations to bring perpetrators to justice and safeguard the rights and welfare of every Filipino child,ā PNP-WCPC chief Police Brigadier General Maria Sheila Portento said.

Authorities reminded the public that selling or trading children, even under the guise of adoption, is a serious crime and punishable by law. They also encouraged people to report similar suspicious activities online to help protect children from exploitation.
