Nadine Lustre Reveals What Really Happened in That Iconic Photo
NADINE LUSTRE – The internet may have had a field day with Nadine Lustre’s “sarsa” photo, but according to her, the truth behind it is both funny and relatable.
Actress-singer Nadine Lustre fondly revisited the story behind her viral photo, where she was seen holding a popular brand of sauce. Appearing on “Ang Walang Kuwentang Channel” with directors Antoinette Jadaone and JP Habac, Nadine shared how the funny snapshot came to be.
She recounted that during that time, she and her boyfriend Chris had just wrapped up a surfing session in Siargao and were looking for something to eat. “After naming mag-surf ni Chris, ‘yung boyfriend ko, marami kasa sa Siargao ‘yung mga stalls ng lechong manok, ‘yun ‘yung una naming nakita. So sabi ko parang hindi complete ‘yung lechon manok nang walang sarsa,” Nadine shared.
To complete their meal, Nadine decided to stop by a nearby store to buy some sauce. “So nagpunta ako sa tindahan, naghanap ako ng sarsa. Nakakatawa ‘yun kasi nakita ko na ngang nagpi-picture ‘yung ate girl sa likod ng cashier,” she added.
At that point, Nadine admitted that she was exhausted and didn’t have the energy to confront the person taking her picture. “Sa sobrang pagod ko, sabi ko, ‘Sige na nga.’ Kaya ganon itsura ko e. Mukha akong nalugi kasi pagod na pagod ako,” she said with a laugh.
She also shared that it happened during her early days in Siargao, when locals were still thrilled to spot her around the island. “Ngayon wala na silang pakialam sa akin,” Nadine jokingly said.
Even though the picture went viral quickly, Nadine said she never felt irritated or upset about it. Instead, she found the whole situation funny and even appreciated how people had fun with it.
The actress revealed that she was entertained to see fans and netizens recreate her “sarsa” moment, showing her lightheartedness and ability to laugh at herself. Her reaction perfectly reflects her down-to-earth personality and how she gracefully handles the more candid sides of fame.
