Marjorie Barretto shared her side of the story
Celebrity mom Marjorie Barretto defended herself against the accusation she received from her own mother Inday Barretto.
To recall, the Barretto matriarch spoke the issues within their family in a two-part interview on the YouTube channel of talent manager-vlogger Ogie Diaz.
In the first part of the interview, Inday attacked actor Raymart Santiago, the ex-husband of her youngest daughter Optimum Star Claudine Barretto. Raymart cried foul and released an official statement through his legal counsel debunking the accusations against him.
In the second part, the Barretto matriarch shared her thoughts on her daughter Marjorie Barretto. It is known to many showbiz fans that there is a lingering feud between the Barretto sisters. Claudine and Gretchen Barretto were able to reconcile years ago.
Inday Barretto said negative things about Marjorie and the latter let days passed before answering the accusations against her.
The mother of actress Julia Barretto stressed this has been very heavy to her heart because she was shocked that she and her mother were supposed not in good terms when they were just together just the other day.
She asked if she was just dreaming that she and her mother were okay, hugging, and comforting each other after her older brother died. Then, Marjorie thought that she might just be the “damage control” in order “for the youngest child to look good and clean.”
She also debunked her mother’s claim that they did not get along and that she was not invited to her parties. Marjorie said that it was her mother who asked her not to post photos with her because Claudine and Gretchen might get angry.
Then, she said that the two-part interview was unfair and destructive. It hurts her hearing these kinds of things against her from her own mother.
Marjorie also can’t get how at one point, her mom would say taht she was “inggit, distant, and cold,” but also said that she loved her daughter. She explained why she needed to speak after her initial silence.
“It’s because I am misunderstood. And when someone close to you distorts the truth in a very public way, it creates an ache that my silence cannot hold anymore,” Marjorie Barretto said.
