Bong Revilla is facing this grave corruption accusation
Actor-politician Bong Revilla had these photos showing that he visited the flood control project in Bulacan in 2023.
Bong is one of the famous celebrities who ventured into politics. From being an action star, he became a public servant. For many years, he served as a senator. Even though he went through controversies as a public servant and was detained because of a plunder case, he was able to surpass this, as he was acquitted.
On Tuesday, September 23, during the Senate inquiry on anomalous flood control projects, former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Bulacan district engineer Henry Alcantara had his testimony in which he mentioned that a P300 million insertion in 2024 was allegedly given to Bong Revilla.
At that time, Bong was still a Senator. He was not reelected in the 2025 midterm elections. Prior to this, Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Joel Villanueva have been dragged into the issue as well.
After Bong’s name was dragged into this big controversy in the Philippine government, photos of him with Alcantara during a site visit in Bulacan resurfaced. This was in Hagonoy, Bulacan.
Abante Teletabloid shared the photos with the caption: “Makikitang nagsagawa ng inspeksyon si dating Sen. Ramon ‘Bong’ Revilla, Jr. sa isang flood control project sa Paombong at Hagonoy, Bulacan noong Agosto 2023. Kasama sa naging pagbisita ang noo’y sina Bulacan 1st District Engr. Henry Alcantara, Assistant District Engr. Brice Hernandez, at Construction Engr. Jaypee D. Mendoza.“
As of this writing, Bong has not yet spoken about the allegations against him. On the other hand, Senators Estrada and Villanueva have denied previously that they were involved in the anomalies in flood control projects. They also said that they were willing to open their bank accounts to prove their innocence
