Update on GSIS Calamity Loan 2025 Offer Coverage
GSIS CALAMITY LOAN — Members of the Government Service Insurance System who are residing in this areas may qualify for the offer until October 2025.
The Philippines is one of the countries prone to natural calamities most especially tropical storms. Annually, at least seven typhoons hit the country. Truth be told that there are also a lot of flood-prone areas in the country and huge impacts due to a tropical storm not a stranger in most of these places. Calamities are unwanted but inevitable. Their effects may range from damages to properties to lost of lives. Thus, the government wants to ensure that the people have something to turn to once the preparations really failed to mitigate the impact of a calamity.
For Filipinos who are working in the government, they are mandated to maintain an active membership to the Government Service Insurance System or more popularly called GSIS. For those who are employed in the private sector, those who are self-employed, those who are working abroad, and many others, the membership of the Social Security System or SSS is open.

Both the GSIS and the SSS offer calamity loans for members who qualify to their offers. With regards to the offer of the former, it is the GSIS Emergency Loan or also popularly called GSIS Calamity Loan by many of its members. The social insurance giant does not only have a multitude of benefits for the GSIS members but as well as loans which includes the Emergency Loan that has already helped countless Filipinos.

The GSIS Calamity Loan offer of the social insurance giant is open for members who are living in areas declared under a State of Calamity or bona fide residents or employees of the government office within the declared calamity area.
Furthermore, the member-borrower must be in active service and not on leave of absence without pay and has no arrearages in the payment of mandatory social insurance contributions. Furthermore, the social insurance giant requires the member-borrower to have no loan that has been declared in default.
The Philippines was recently hit by the Southwest Monsoon that brought heavy rains for several days. Typhoons Crising, Dante, and Emong also brought heavy downpour in several areas across the nation that resulted to flooding.
With regards to the GSIS Calamity Loan offer, the social insurance giant posts the lists of areas whose residents who are GSIS members and qualify to the eligibility criteria may apply for the loan offer.
