President Marcos Sets to Blacklist Contractors Tied to DPWH Corruption From Any Gov’t Projects

President Marcos is set to blacklist several contractors linked to alleged corruption in DPWH from any government projects.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has announced that several contractors and companies linked to irregularities in the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will soon be banned from participating in any government projects.

The announcement comes as part of his administration’s effort to clean up corruption, especially in one of the country’s most heavily funded agencies.

According to the President, names of individuals and corporations have already surfaced in ongoing investigations. These entities were found to be behind substandard infrastructure projects and are now facing the possibility of criminal charges.

Marcos emphasized that all involved will be held accountable, regardless of their connections or political ties.

“It has to be evenly applied. Hindi naman maaari dito lang tayo nagau-audit, dito lang tayo naghahanap ng mananagot, Kailangan lahat kung sinoman ang naging kasabwat dito sa ganyang klaseng pagtrabaho, sorry na lang. Kagaya ng sabi ko, sorry na lang,” he said.

A third-party audit is now underway to look into how funds were spent, especially on flood control projects. Despite increased budgets over the past three years from P128 billion in 2022 to P248 billion this year, many areas still suffer from severe flooding.

Marcos pointed out that this disconnect raises serious concerns about how these projects were executed and where the funds actually went.

The President also stressed that even his allies will not be spared if found involved. For him, loyalty has no place when public money is at stake.

Marcos promised that once the review is complete, the public will know who is responsible. For him, those behind the waste of public funds must answer not only to the government but also to the people who continue to suffer from their actions.
