Boss Toyo’s Confession Behind Viral ‘Imburnal Girl’ Blade Purchase

Content creator Boss Toyo recently shed light on the reason behind his controversial decision to purchase the blade used by Rosemarie Peligrino—better known online as the viral “Imburnal Girl.”
In an interview during the World Gin Day 2025 celebration hosted by Ginebra San Miguel, he explained that his gesture came from a place of understanding and compassion, not judgment.
According to Boss Toyo, it is more effective to guide today’s youth toward positive change rather than criticize or condemn them. He believes that showing empathy can make a real difference, especially for those who feel neglected or misunderstood. Drawing from his own painful experiences, Toyo revealed that he was once a drug addict for ten years and found redemption only after turning his life around. “As a confessed drug addict before… sinabi ko naman na wala talaga akong pinatunguhan.” he admitted. “So, noong tinigil ko ‘yun at naghanap ako ng bagong buhay, naging maayos ang buhay ko.”
This personal journey has driven him to help individuals like Peligrino, who went viral for a controversial video involving self-harm. According to the report, Toyo bought the cutter she used for ₱5,000 and added another ₱5,000 as financial assistance. “Binigyan ko ng another P5,000 kasi alam mo naman ‘yung mga may bisyo, malay mo…” he explained, hinting at the difficult realities faced by troubled youth.
Instead of lashing out at Peligrino, Toyo chose a more compassionate route. “Minsan kasi, the more na pinapagalitan mo ‘yung mga ganun, the more na nagiging harsh sa kanila… Kapag hindi sila nagbago, sila naman ang mawawalan, hindi tayo,” he said, emphasizing the importance of patience and empathy in influencing change.
By sharing his story and using his platform, Boss Toyo hopes to inspire others to give people like Peligrino a chance at redemption. While he admits there’s no certainty she will change, he remains hopeful that his gesture might open a path toward healing and growth.
