Pres. Bongbong Marcos Gives Message to Philippine Navy Anniversary Celebration
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President asserted that the Philippines will not tolerate “any act of disrespected against our sovereignty”.
The sovereignty of the Philippines became a controversial topic after the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. Many Filipinos believed that it was allegedly against the sovereignty of the country. Pres. Marcos was heavily blamed over the arrest and the transfer of Duterte’s custody to the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Malacañang previously defended Marcos from betrayal accusations over Duterte’s arrest. According to the Palace, the government only acted with its commitment with the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol).
After the plane carrying Duterte left for The Hague, Netherlands where he is currently detained, Pres. Marcos claimed that the government acted on the arrest not because it came from the ICC but because of its commitment with the Interpol.
Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos spoke about the “sovereignty” of the country before the members of the Philippine Navy. Based on a report on GMA News, the Chief Executive gave a message during the 127th anniversary celebration of the Philippine Navy.
Speaking before the members of the Philippine Navy, Pres. Marcos claimed that the country will not allow any form of disrespect on its sovereignty. He also stressed that the country will not have to surrender nor neglect anything.
“We will never tolerate any act of disrespect against our sovereignty. Wala tayong isusuko, wala tayong pababayaan,” the Chief Executive said.
According to Pres. Bongbong Marcos, his administration will continue to protect the maritime zones of the Philippines and exercise the country’s maritime rights based on the international law. Based on the report, he also highlighted the importance of the country’s commitment to the international community.
“We reaffirm our commitment to being a responsible member of the international community engaging in all matters diplomatically and upholding the established principles under International law,” Marcos expressed.
Furthermore, Marcos Jr. ensured that his admin will continue to make sure that the Armed Forces of the Philippines is ready to what lies ahead. He expressed a commendation on the role of the Navy on the orderly conduct of the 2025 Elections.
