Thief Climbs Roof & Pretends to Be Mentally Ill When Caught
A male thief climbs roof and pretends to be mentally ill when the police authorities arrived at the scene.
Recently, Nicole Pestolante, a Facebook user, shared a photo of a man who was caught on the roof of their house, attempting to steal. The post immediately spread like wildfire on social media and elicited comments from the online community.
The incident happened at an old ancestral home located near a police and military camp. Around 10:00 PM, neighbors noticed the man on the roof and immediately called for help. Police officers and even nearby army personnel responded to the scene.
However, the suspect started pretending to be mentally unstable, likely in an attempt to avoid arrest. He had been up on the roof for over two hours, creating tension and drawing attention from the neighborhood.
The roof, already old and worn out, was damaged further when the man pulled out nails and pieces of the structure. He even removed an old TV antenna, possibly to use as a weapon.
According to the family, he inserted nails between his fingers to make it harder for the police to approach him safely, showing clear signs of wanting to fight back.
Luckily, no one was seriously hurt, but the damage to the roof and the danger he posed made it a stressful night for the family. Despite living near law enforcement, the incident showed how bold some criminals can be.

There’s a thief on our roof, and things are absolutely funny and tense.
Our neighbors though are on the lookout. The police and some neighboring army are already here. The guy’s now pretending to be out of his mind, what a “classic move”. He’s been stuck up there for over two hours now, just causing a scene. And take note—they’re on our roof, a big old ancestral house, and anytime our roof could give way and they might fall through.
The policemen trying to negotiate can’t hold him because he’s bringing nails inserted in between his fingers (Iya diay ning giibot sa among atop so bangag bangag na ni amo atop inig ulan Hahaha).
