Lotlot de Leon Reflects on Heartfelt Role Bearing Nora Aunor’s Name
LOTLOT DE LEON- Actress Lotlot de Leon became emotional upon learning that her latest character shares the name “Nora,” in honor of her late mother, screen legend Nora Aunor.
Lotlot de Leon recently had a touching moment while working on her latest project, and she shared it with fans through Instagram Stories on May 9. What made the day extra emotional? She found out she’d be playing a character named “Nora”—a name that means the world to her.
It’s the first time Lotlot is portraying someone with the same name as her late adoptive mother, the one and only Nora Aunor—an absolute legend in Philippine showbiz, who sadly passed away just last month. The timing of this role, so close to her mom’s passing, clearly hit home.

“At work today and for the first time ever… ngayon lang na ang pangalan ng character ko ay, Nora,” she wrote in IG, visibly moved by the experience. She even pointed out a small but meaningful detail: instead of her own name, her tent on set was labeled “Nora.” Usually, actors get their real names printed on their tents, but this time was different—and it clearly meant a lot to her. “Today it’s mom’s name,” she shared.
In another tender moment, Lotlot left a short but heartfelt message: “Hi ma… I love you…” A few simple words that carried so much love, longing, and respect for the woman who helped shape her life.

She also turned to prayer, sharing a quiet moment with God: “Pagpalain nyo po ako papa God. Kayo na po bahala sa lahat lahat… Alam ko naririnig mo laman ng puso ko.”

Fans who are still grieving the loss of the Superstar found comfort in Lotlot’s tribute. It wasn’t just a role—it was a way of keeping her mother’s legacy alive. Through this project, Lotlot honored Nora not only as a daughter but also as an artist carrying her mom’s name with pride and love.
