Tributes pour in for Nora Aunor, who died on April 16.
NORA AUNOR – Sharon Cuneta, Judy Ann Santos, Ai-Ai delas Alas, and Lorna Tolentino paid tribute to the superstar.
On April 16 at exactly 9:53 PM, Philippine cinema superstar Nora Aunor died. In a previous article, Aunor’s cause of death was acute respiratory failure, technically and clinically speaking.
Her son, Ian De Leon, stressed that she didn’t die during the operation. According to him, she underwent an operation, but her condition did not improve. It made her breathing more difficult, which prompted them to do another procedure. She was confined for a week in a hospital before she passed away.
Aunor’s remains now lie at the Chapels at Heritage Park.
Tributes for the superstar
Megastar Sharon Cuneta shared what she felt and expressed how she was still in disbelief over what happened. According to her, she has left, but her legacy as the legendary actress that she was will continue to inspire the coming generations.
She went on, “Thank you, Ate Guy, for sharing your life and immense talents with us all. May you rest in peace in God our Father’s arms. Our National Artist. Our Superstar. Showbiz will never be the same without you. Our deepest condolences to all of Miss Nora Aunor’s family and friends and millions of fans.”
Queen of Soap Opera Judy Ann Santos was also shocked after hearing the news. She has known the late superstar as one of the humblest stars of the industry and admired by many. As she said goodbye to Ate Guy, she added her gratitude for her great contributions to the industry that she embraced and loved completely.
For Comedy Queen Aiai Delas Alas, her legacy will forever shine. She wrote, “A star may set, but its light remains. Thank you for the tears, and the timeless moments. Your legacy will shine forever in the heart of showbusiness.. Rest in Peace Ate Guy.”
90s Grand Slam Actress Lorna Tolentino remembered the late superstar in a post with a short caption that read, “Rest in God. Rest in Heaven’s Glory. Our Superstar Nora Aunor.”
