According to Derek Ramsay, his friend was deeply affected.
In an interview, Derek Ramsay revealed how being dragged into the issue of Philmar Alipayo and Andi Eigenmann affected Pernilla Sjoo.
Swedish photographer based on Siargao Pernilla Sjoo has been staying here in the Philippines for many years now. In the span of her stay in the country, she was able to make connections, and among the closest persons to her were some well-loved celebrities in the show business industry.
Among them are couple Derek Ramsay and Ellen Adarna who both came forward online to defend her after she was dragged into the issue of Philmar Alipayo and Andi Eigenmann.
In a previous article, Derek reacted to the issue, and in his own point of view, while the feelings of Andi were valid and understandable, she could have chosen to keep it private since her fame and influence could have undesirable results and it did. The repercussions included his close friend Pernilla who is accordingly deeply affected because of the backlash online that she received.
Pernilla was accordingly crying and could not even go out of her house in fear that she might be attacked by their fans. For Ramsay, in a world full of bashers, a lot of people love to do bashing whenever there’s an opportunity and his friend is not as mentally tough as him when it comes to dealings matters like this.
“And for me to talk to her [Pernilla] every day, and she’s crying and crying and crying and crying and crying,” Derek said.
He acknowledges his friend’s fault regarding the matching tattoo but, at the same time, he also acknowledges the cultural differences. She’s wrong and she’s accordingly willing to accept her fault and apologize but her intent was never to hurt or betray Andi.
“But the intent was not to hurt Andi. The intent was not to [steal] her husband. Her intent was not to betray Andi,” the actor added.
About the issue of Philmar and Andi
The issue started after people online noticed that Philmar Alipayo and Andi Eigenmann unfollowed each other on Instagram. Such a gesture has sparked speculation and rumors about their relationship and there was indeed a problem.
The actress shared that the issue began when Philmar and his friend, Pernilla Sjoo, had a matching couple’s tattoo without consulting her. No cheating has happened but she was hurt by what they did. She said Philmar never cheated on her but called out the woman involved in the controversy for betraying her and resorted to posting the issue online as this female friend refused to respond to her when she reached out.
Andi and Philmar are now okay based on the latter. Things that could have been handled privately were taken too far but now, they have finally patched things up.
