Cops Arrest Construction Worker for Beating Wife’s Drug Session Partner
A 35-year-old construction worker was arrested for alleged beating his wife’s drug session partner to death.
On Monday morning (February 3, 2025), a man, listed as the Top 1 Most Wanted Person by the Manila Police District and Top 4 Most Wanted at the regional level for murder, was arrested in Tondo, Manila.
According to Police Lieutenant Ferdinand Omli, head of Intelligence Operations and Warrant Section at Delpan Police Station, the crime took place on April 16, 2024, in Barangay 123, Manila.
The suspect claimed that his wife had been disappearing frequently, and he learned from others that she was often seen at another man’s house. When he decided to check for himself, he caught them inside the man’s room using illegal drugs.
The construction worker attacked the man, beating him until he lost consciousness.
The 60-year-old victim suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to the hospital but did not survive. His family filed a case, but the suspect failed to appear in court proceedings and went into hiding.
To avoid capture, the suspect stayed in Pasay as a live-in worker, limiting his movements. However, with the help of the community and barangay officials, authorities discovered that he would occasionally return home to collect clothes and do laundry.
Acting on a tip that he was in Tondo, police tracked him down and arrested him.
The suspect insisted that his wife and the victim were having an affair. He admitted to punching the man but claimed he only wanted to teach him a lesson. Following the incident, he and his wife separated, leaving their two children, aged eight and eleven, in the care of relatives.
Now in the custody of Delpan Police Station, the suspect faces murder charges. Lieutenant Omli warned against the dangers of illegal drugs, emphasizing how substance abuse destroys families.
