PAGASA Says Amihan and Easterlies to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that amihan and easterlies will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Tuesday (February 4, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and easterlies will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina reported that Northeast Monsoon will be affecting Northern and Central Luzon while the easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains to the rest of the country.

Amihan will bring cloudy skies and rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon.

“Ito northeast monsoon ang magdadala ng mga mahihinang pag-ulan, partikular na sa malaking bahagi ng Cagayan Valley, gayundin sa may area ng Cordillera Administrative Region,” Badrina

“Kasama ‘yung Aurora at Quezon, dulot ng pag-iral ng amihan,” he added.

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental, and Davao de Oro.

“Ang easterlies o ‘yung hanging nagmumula sa karagatang Pasipiko ay patuloy na magdadala ng malalaking tsansa ng mga pag-ulan, lalong-lalo na sa may Silangang Mindanao,” Badrina noted.

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and CALABARZON.

The easterlies will bring similar weather conditions over the remaining parts of the country.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas for possible flash floods or landslides will be moderate to at times heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon and the eastern section of Central Luzon will be rough. Moderate to rough waters are expected over the rest of Luzon.

Slight to moderate water conditions over Visayas and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
