PAGASA Says Shear Line and Amihan to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that shear line and amihan will prevail across the country.
On Saturday (January 11, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration releases latest weather update in the country. The shear line and amihan will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA Weather Specialist Grace Castañeda reported that multiple weather systems will bring cloudy skies and rains over several parts of the country. The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Visayas, Bicol Region, and MIMAROPA.
“Patuloy pa ring umiiral ang shear line dito sa silangang bahagi ng Southern Luzon at Visayas kung saan ngayong araw ay magdudulot pa rin ito ng mga pag-ulan lalong lalo na dito sa area ng Bicol region at sa ilang area din ng eastern Visayas,” Castañeda said.
The Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring similar weather conditions over the Davao Region and SOCCSKSARGEN.
The northeast monsoon will bring the same weather over Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, and Quezon.
“Samantala, ang amihan naman ay magdudulot pa rin ng malamig na panahon dito sa northern at central Luzon at mayroon din itong dalang mga pag-ulan” she added.
Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and the rest of Mindanao.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon will be rough to very rough. Moderate to rough waters are expected over the rest of Luzon and Visayas.
The remaining parts of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
