Content Creator Earns Praise Online After Sharing Inspiring Journey with College Best Friend
A content creator opened up about the struggles he and his best friend faced before achieving success through determination and teamwork.
Recently, Zac Alviz, a multimedia arts graduate, shared a heartfelt post about the challenges he and his college best friend, Joco, endured. The post quickly circulated online and elicited reactions from netizens.
Back in their university days at La Salle, they were both scholars who lived on a tight budget. Simple meals like budget combos from fast-food chains were their go-to, as they couldn’t afford anything more.
Despite their circumstances, they supported each other through difficult times, including health and financial struggles within their families.
Over the years, their hard work paid off. Now, more than a decade after graduating in 2013, they’ve achieved remarkable milestones. From enjoying fine dining to traveling to dream destinations, both have grown to become investors in real estate and businesses across the Philippines, Australia, and Hong Kong.
Zac also emphasized one of their latest achievements: the launch of their second Airbnb project, a Japanese-style villa located in Lubao, Pampanga. This two-villa property, designed for 8 to 16 guests, features swimming pools, a kitchen, and a relaxing ambiance.

Through his post, Zac reminded others that no challenge lasts forever and emphasized the value of running your own race at your own pace. However, he noted, life becomes more fulfilling when you share the journey with a like-minded friend.
Here is the full post:
“Ito nga pala yung bestfriend ko nung college na si Joco. We both graduated with Multimedia Arts Degree sa La Salle noong 2013. Hindi kami rich kid, scholar lang. Nag dinner kami sa Vertis North nung isang gabi. Yung inabot na nung staff yung eftpos machine for the payment nag unahan pa kami kung sino mag babayad. Nag tawanan nalang kami kasi we remembered nung college hanggang shark’s fin ng Pao Tsin at 39ers ng Mcdo lang yung madalas namin kainin sa Taft Avenue kasi yun lang yung afford namin. Dumaan din yung mga times na we hit rock bottom sa buhay namin but we managed to help each other. Natulungan ko siya yung nagkasakit yung mama niya. Binigyan nya ng business yung parents ko yung panahon na hirap ako.
Ngayon, 11 years later nakakapag medium rare steak na, nakakapag travel na din sa mga destination na gusto namin. We’re both investors na din sa real estate and businesses namin sa Australia, Pilipinas and Hong Kong.
I hope this post will bring inspiration and encouragement to your life. Whatever challenges you are currently facing lilipas din yan. Don’t compare your chapter one to chapter five of your friends. It’s important to run your own race pero mas masaya if you run with a friend with the same goals in life.
This December mag-oopen na itong 2nd Airbnb Japanese-style Villa project namin sa Lubao, Pampanga. Two villas siya. Good for 8-16 pax. May dalawang swimming pool, kitchen and everything – Ikigai Private Suites
Yun lang. Peace!”
