PAGASA Says Shear Line and Amihan to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH
PAGASA – The state weather bureau reported that the northeast monsoon and the shear line will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Saturday (December 7, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and the shear line will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja reported that the shear line and the Northeast Monsoon will affect parts of Northern Luzon. Amihan will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Batanes.
“Base naman sa ating latest satellite animation wala po tayong namamataang anumang low-pressure area or bagyo na papasok ng ating Philippine Area of Responsibility sa mga susunod na araw,” Estareja said.
The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Cagayan, Isabela, and Apayao.
“Ngayong araw po asahan ang mataas na tsansa ng ulan dito sa Northern Luzon epekto ng Northeast Monsoon, dito sa Batanes merong mahihinang ulan at malamig na temperatura habang dito naman sa may Cagayan, iIsabela Apayao at mga nearby pa na mga bayan asahan ang makulimlim na panahon pa rin at sasamahan pa rin ito ng kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at thunderstorms,” he added.
The Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring similar weather conditions over Caraga and Davao Region.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the remaining parts of the country.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. Slight to moderate waters are expected over the remaining parts of the country, according to PAGASA.
