Pres. Bongbong Marcos Releases Statement on Bonifacio Day

BONGBONG MARCOS – The President, in his message for the Bonifacio Day, called on the Filipinos to do their part in freeing the Philippines from hunger and corruption.

In the Philippines, one of the most popular Philippine heroes is Gat Andres Bonifacio. He is known as The Father of the Philippine Revolution. He was the man that led the Kataastaasan, Kagalanggalangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan or more popularly called KKK.

The Kataastaasan, Kagalanggalangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan was a revolutionary movement that had Bonifacio as their Supremo in the fight for the freedom of the Philippines from the Spanish colonizers.

Gat Andres Bonifacio was born on November 30, 1863 in Tondo. Today marks the 161st Birth Anniversary of the Philippine hero. It is one of the holidays in the Philippines every year.

Being a regular holiday, classes in schools in the Philippines in all levels are cancelled today. Work in the government as well as in the private sectors are also suspended to pave the way for the celebration of the 161st Birth Anniversary of Gat Andres Bonifacio.

Recently, Philippine Pres. Bongbong Marcos has released a message for the Filipino people on Bonifacio Day. In a letter posted on social media, the Chief Executive recalled the life and heroism of Gat Andres Bonifacio who is an inspiration to many people “to rise against tyranny”.

Marcos Jr. also recalled that Bonifacio had a humble beginnings but he made his way to realizing his dreams and goals for the Philippines. Citing the Filipino hero’s courage, the Supremo of the Katipunan “lit the flames of the Philippine revolution”.

The Philippine revolution had a huge contribution in the liberation of the Philippines from the hands of the foreign colonizers. Pres. Bongbong Marcos stressed that we Filipinos owe our heroes a debt of gratitude.

“Let us honor his memory by finding a deeper meaning in his sacrifice and doing our part in liberating our country from the shackles of hunger, corruption, criminality, and other ills of society,” the President wrote.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos hopes that patriotism, love for one another, and discipline will guide us Filipinos in “building a better Bagong Pilipinas where every Filipino lives in genuine peace, progress, and harmony”.
