Aiko Melendez and Jay Khonghun talked about their relationship
Actress-politician Aiko Melendez and her boyfriend Congressman Jay Khonghun are celebrating their 7th anniversary this year.
Aiko and Jay have been supportive of each other’s endeavors. The actress has been juggling her responsibilities as a councilor in Quezon City and her showbiz engagements. The couple has been together for seven years and they admitted that it was not always rainbows and butterflies.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Aiko and Jay will have a celebration for their 7th anniversary. They were asked about the 7-year itch belief.
It was the congressman who answered this and made his girlfried laugh. “Okay naman masaya bilang mag-boyfriend, girlfriend, maraming ups and downs pero ang importante ay nanatili pa rin ang pagmamahal at respeto at siyempre ang aming loyal sa isa’t isa,” the congressman shared.
The actress-politician said that when it comes to loyalty, there is no problem between them. She also said that in seven years of being together, they love each other more.
Jay added that they have learned not to fight petty issues between them. However, he admitted that there was “selosan.”
“Hindi naman maiiwasan may mga selos lalo na kung nagseselos siya. Lagi ko naming sinasabi sa kanya na ‘wag magseselos,” he said in jest that made Aiko laugh and jokingly added that her boyfriend does not want to say the truth.
Jay eventually, gave the right answer as he said that there is respect between them as they both know the things that they do not like.
Jay Khonghun also shared that he is close with Aiko Melendez’s family. He said that it was okay that he and his girlfriend would fight but he did not want to have a rift with Aiko’s mom. The male politician is also close to the actress’s son Andre and daughter Marthena.
When asked about the next level of their relationship, Jay said, “Siyempre may plano, it’s always there abangan na lang natin, dumating ang time, hindi namin ipagdadamot iyon kasama kayo.”
