Michelle Dee had this statement about her Voice for Change award
Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee revealed that she is still waiting for her Miss Universe Voice for Change Award.
Michelle represented the Philippines in one of the most prestigious international beauty pageants last year. She won the VFC Award for her advocacy. Michelle is advocating awareness and support for people on the autism spectrum as her brother belongs to this group.
For many years, more than just being glamorous on the pageant stage, Michelle has been promoting her advocacy even during the time when she represented the Philippines in the Miss World competition in 2019.
Just recently, the Miss Universe Organization shared a post highlighting the Voice for Change Award for this year’s competition. This included the photo of Miss Universe 2023 Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua, 1st runner-up Anntonia Porsild from Thailand, and Michelle Dee.
This garnered reaction from the fans of Miss Australia Moraya Wilson who was hailed as the 2nd runner-up. However, fans of the Pinay beauty queen stressed that it is because Michelle won the Voice of Change award last year which makes her deserving to be in the photo since the post was about the said award.
“‘Voice for Change’ taps into the core values of both Miss Universe and CI Talks: amplifying voices, advocating for a brighter future, and encouraging global citizens to take meaningful action,” the MUO stated.
In a comment, Michelle talked about the VFC Award. She said that this was the most important award for her pageant journey.
She said that the public knows that her brother and those on the autism spectrum have been the focus of her purpose and passion for the things she does even before she started her pageant journey.
Michelle acknowledged the fact that in her win, the “bayanihan” spirit of the Filipinos helped her a lot. Then, she revealed that she had not received yet her award.
“At present, I’m still waiting for the release of the VFC award and I’m hoping that they do before the next set of winners,” Michelle Dee said. As of this writing, the Miss Universe Organization has not released yet a statement regarding this matter.
