Senator Hontiveros reveals Alice Guo and Mayor Dong Calugay might have a child.
ALICE GUO – What is the relationship of the former Bamban mayor with Sual, Pangasinan Mayor Liseldo “Dong” Calugay?
The Senate investigation into the illegal Philippine offshore gaming operators or POGOs in Bamban, Tarlac continues. Mainly involved is dismissed Bamban, Tarlac mayor Alice Guo who once escaped the country amid the complaints and investigations. She was a fugitive and early in September, Guo was arrested in Indonesia which marked the continuation of the investigation.
Sual, Pangasinan Mayor Liseldo “Dong” Calugay, the alleged boyfriend of Guo, finally appeared in the recent hearing. He has already skipped two hearings due to dengue fever and was subpoenaed.
As he finally appeared, their alleged relationship was probed but Calugay denied any romantic ties with Guo. They are accordingly just friends. However, in the investigation, there were some businesses linked to them and those are:
- Licsel Fish Farm
- Guco Aqua Farm
- Donquo Fish Farm
“Wala po akong ganyang negosyo po,” the Sual, Pampanga Mayor claimed. The senators also presented some photos of them but both were evasive stressing they are only friends.
In the same hearing, Senator Risa Hontiveros got a piece of information about them having a child together. This question was raised when the senators interrogated Calugay’s executive secretary Cheryl Ordoña-Medina over the real score of the two politicians.
“In fact, may nakuha po kaming impormasyon na kayo mismo nagsabi sa kanila na girlfriend ni Mayor Calugay si Guo Hua Ping. Bukod pa diyan, kinuwinento niyo pa raw sa kanila na may anak silang dalawa,” Hontiveros said, addressing Medina.
The secretary denied the claims and insisted that the two have no romantic relationship or business relationship. This is after she admitted in the early part of the hearing her involvement in the processing of documents that are related to one of the five fish farms suspected to be owned by Calugay and Guo.
According to Calugay, he was annulled but now living with someone. When Guo was asked who this person was living with Calugay, the former mayor refused to answer.
