PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Saturday (September 14, 2024)
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Tropical Storm Ferdie exits PAR but its trough and Habagat will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Saturday (September 14, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Tropical Storm Ferdie and habagat will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Daniel James Villamil reported that Tropical Storm Ferdie with the international name of Bebinca exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility. However, Ferdie’s trough and habagat will bring rain.
Ferdie was last spotted at 1,210 km east northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour, gustiness of up to 105 kph, and central pressure of 992 hPa. It is moving 20 kph in a west-northwestward direction.
“Kahit na nasa labas na ito ng ating PAR, makikita dito sa ating latest satellite images ang makakapal na kaulapan na umiiral sa malaking bahagi ng ating bansa. [Ito] ay ang patuloy na epekto ng Southwest Monsoon o Habagat na hinahatak ng bagyo,” Villamil said.
Monsoon rains are expected over Mimaropa, Western Visayas, and Negros Occidental. The monsoon will bring occasional rains over Bicol Region and the rest of Negros Island Region.
Habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, the rest of Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, CALABARZON, Zambales, and Bataan.
The monsoon will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the rest of Luzon and Mindanao.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the western seaboards of Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, western seaboard of Western Visayas, western and southern seaboards of Negros Island Region, the southern seaboard of Central Visayas, the southern seaboard of Eastern Visayas, the seaboard of Caraga Region, the seaboard of Northern Mindanao, the northern and western seaboards of Zamboanga Peninsula, the eastern seaboard of Davao Region, and the remaining seaboards of Palawan will be rough.
The eastern seaboard of Eastern Visayas, the northern seaboard of Ilocos Region, the northern seaboard of Cagayan Valley, the southern seaboard of Quezon, the seaboards of Bicol Region, and the remaining seaboards of MIMAROPA, Visayas, Davao Region, and Zamboanga Peninsula will experience similar surrounding sea conditions.
